Welcome to the American Revolution II

Welcome to the American Revolution II
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
"We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose and insidious in method..." and warned about what he saw as unjustified government spending proposals and continued with a warning that "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex... The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist... Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."Dwight D. Emerging Islamic Infrastructure

map FranceEmerging Islamic Infrastructure

Since the late 1960s, the American Muslim community has experienced exponential growth and incredible diversification and integration. The number of mosques (masajid) more than doubled, from 230 in 1960 to over 600 by 1980. The 1970s were a time of increased immigration of Muslims from all parts of the world, as well as a period marked by a transition to orthodox Islam among African Americans and the embracing of Islam by as many as 80,000 Euro-Americans.

The most significant of these was the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which was established by the MSA in 1982 to serve as an umbrella organization for Sunni Muslim groups across the country. ISNA was one of many outgrowths of the MSA; others include the Islamic Medical Association, founded in 1967, the Association of Muslim Scientists and Engineers, founded in 1969, and the Association of Muslim Social Scientists, founded in 1972. ISNA publishes the magazine Islamic Horizons and sponsors both national and regional conferences.

http://dancingczars.files.wordpress.com/2010/07/cair.jpg?w=200&h=200ISNA also participates in the Islamic Shura Council of North America, which coordinates among four of the most important national Muslim organizations: ISNA, Ministry of Imam W. Deen Mohammed, the community under the leadership of Imam Jamil Al-Amin, and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA). The formation of this council is a potent signifier of the merging of indigenous and immigrant streams of Islam in the American context. On a practical level, this council founded the Bosnia Task Force and facilitated the first joint observance of Ramadan in America. In 1993, all of these national organizations coordinated the sightings of the moon which begin and end this observance.

The North American Shi'a Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities (NASIMCO) and the national council of the Ismaili community, His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for the U.S.A., are examples of American Shi'i organizations, although ISNA and ICNA do not exclude Shi'i participation. U.S. Muslim organizations today include over fifteen Islamic financial services organizations which adhere to shari'ah, a score of political action committees, and social service organizations ranging from New York's Islamic Family Services to Illinois' Islamic Food Council and California's Islamic Marriage Bureau. Media organizations include Muslim book publishers and sellers, audio/video productions, Islamic graphic design groups, and a multitude of magazines and newspapers.

Social activism and charitable organizations are a key contribution of the American Muslim community. Many of these groups have an international focus, providing aid to Muslims from Bosnia-Herzegovina to Bangladesh; organizations such as ICNA Relief and Islamic Relief also provide aid to the needy in the United States. Other Muslim communities reach out directly into their neighborhoods and to their non-Muslim neighbors: members of New York's Masjid al-Taqwa worked with police and community organizations to close down some fifteen crack houses; leaders of Masjid al-Rasul in Los Angeles helped to arrange a truce between rival gangs.

Muslims in America have been building a community from the ground up: most American Muslims have not had the option simply to go to the local masjid; they had to establish one. Muslim parents cannot simply send their children to the local Sunday school, they have to create one. This community has, therefore, created an elaborate Islamic infrastructure in America, with over 400 Islamic schools, over 1,200 Islamic centers and mosques, and a myriad of other organizations. Through these efforts, over 5,000,000 American Muslims are educating their children, gathering to pray, working to educate their neighbors and their government, fighting against poverty and crime, and building a stronger, more diverse ummah in America. The American Muslim community strives to carry faithfully the message of Islam in a challenging environment.

In America, Muslims from all parts of the world are claiming a common identity based on religious, not ethnic grounds. As one prominent Muslim educator put it, "Enabling Muslims to explore the roots of their faith more freely is, in my mind, America's gift to Muslims."

How France Has Fallen

Muslim immigration has overwhelmed permissive French institutions

map France France is probably the worst affected of all western nations by immigration, since it is on the brink of losing its European identity to the insistent Muslims increasing in numbers within French borders. As they grow in population, they come to believe they can impose the will of Islam on the French people, who seem rather unconcerned with the transformation.

With a population of five million Muslims, France is holding a tiger by the ears. The threat of violence from radical Islamic elements cannot be far from politicians' minds. Wherever there are large numbers of Arabs, there is crime and violence, particularly against women.

France should be seen as a cautionary tale of immigration run amok, and how quickly things get out of control. Muslim immigration to France is a post-war phenomenon for the most part: just of few decades of high immigration of a group with high fertility has put France in the unenviable position of being the European nation thought most likely to be the first to introduce sharia (Islamic) law.

Black October: The unreported attacks against the Jews of France
The Weekly Standard reports that the violence following the 2000 intifada uprising in the Middle East included the most shocking anti-Semitic incidents since World War II. Among them were six French synagogues burned down in less than three weeks. The magazine calls it “protracted domestic terrorism on a large scale” and notes that nearly all of the perpetrators were Muslims.

Islam in France and Germany
Four to five million Muslims are estimated to live in France; 2.9 million in Germany.

French Jews Demand Protection
The spring 2002 hostilities in Israel were again reflected in increased violence in France against Jews. In Marseilles, a synagogue was burned to the ground. Marseille has a particularly large population of Muslims.

European Jihad
According to this writer, the anti-semitic violence is worse in Belgium than in France, and cites a particularly nasty riot. A "pro-peace" rally in Antwerp peopled by mostly Morrocan Arab immigrants savaged a Jewish section of the city reminiscent of Kristallnacht. The author remarked, "Everybody knew that what happens in France can happen in Belgium as well, because both countries have large populations of Jews and larger populations of Arabs." In another account of mounting violence against European Jews by Arabs, "Jews suffer surge of hate on streets of Belgium" (5/30/02), anti-semitic violence has become so normal that it is not mentioned in the news any more: "The incidents are now so common that they rarely make it into the local press."

Mideast war exposes ugly Europeans
Canadian columnist Mark Steyn reflects on the anti-semitic violence common in Europe and states, "This is not virulently anti-Jew, just the familiar European urge to appease... The Europeans are scared of their Muslim populations, scared of what perceived slight might turn them from shooting up kosher butchers to shooting up targets of more, shall we say, concern to the general population."

France's angry young Muslims
The Christian Science Monitor notes that anti-semitic violence in France these days is perpetrated mostly by North African immigrants. They don't fit into French society and therefore identify themselves with the global Muslim community. "The kids don't practice Islam, but they use it to give themselves an identity," remarked the mayor of a small town. At the time of this article, April 2002, France was experiencing 12 anti-Semitic incidents daily on average, ranging from graffiti to assaults.

Parisiens speak out as protesters march
After Le Pen surprized everyone with an upset in the preliminary round of voting for President of France in April 2002, most media coverage was hysterical. This article interviews several residents of Paris in a reflective mood. One Jewish woman says she considered voting for Le Pen because she fears the violence and disorder from the immigrant Muslims.

Muslim populations may push Jews to the right
Do Muslims already outnumber Jews in the United States? The growing number of Muslim immigrants in the U.S. and Europe bring an attitude of non-assimilation, which may cause Jews to reassess their often liberal views on immigration.

U.S. Has Given 50,000 Visas Since 9-11 to New Visitors from the Middle East
The State Department seems not to have noticed a certain terrorist attack on New York and Washington.

European Jihad
This account of an anti-Jewish "pro-Palestinian" demonstration in Antwerp Belgium sounds more like a mini-Kristallnacht than anything else. Isn't it curious that a "peace" rally could turn so destructive?

Importing Anti-Semitism, Continued
Steve Sailer notes the significantly higher percentage of anti-Semitic Hispanic immigrants according to their polled opinions about Jews and Israel — about double that of the number of American-born persons of Latino descent. In one example, 55 percent of foreign-born Hispanics agree with the assertion that "Jews don't care what happens to anyone but their own kind," compared to 26 percent of Hispanics born in the U.S.

The Impact of Islamic Immigration on American Values and the Jewish Community
This transcript is of a discussion (June 2002) sponsored by the Center for Immigration Studies and the American Jewish Congress in Philadelphia. The politics of increased Muslim immigration are noted — declining support for Israel for one. Still, the idea of ending immigration from certain countries, even those that are deemed "terror supporting" by the State Department, is thought too extreme to consider. (Rhetorical Question: Did the United States allow normal immigration and tourism from Germany and Japan during WWII?)

Liberte, Egalite, Judeophobie: Why Le Pen is the least of France's problems.
This Weekly Standard article paints a frightening picture of an angry Muslim population unwilling to assimilate. One young Muslim accosted a government minister saying, "F-- off! We don't want to live anymore in a country that has Jews in it!" Violent crime by this group was a major factor in the surprising electoral success of Mr. Le Pen. (Don't miss the rather subtle link at the end to the second part.)

Something Rotten in Denmark
The rapid influx of Muslims into Denmark has made life for the nation's 6,000 Jews increasingly frightening. A school principal told Jewish parents that she could no longer guarantee the safety of their children. Furthermore, anti-Israel demonstrations have become anti-Jewish riots, and a local Islamic organization has called for the murder of Jews "wherever you find them."

France's Jewish Problem
A better title would be "French Jews' Muslim Problem." Written by Michel Gurfinkiel, the author of the 2000 article "Black October: The unreported attacks against the Jews of France," this update (July 2002) to the situation notes the changing political allegiances. Because the Muslim population of France is now 10 times that of French Jews, "anti-Semitism need no longer be a concern of the political establishment."

Islam in France: Is the French Way of Life in Danger?
This 1997 piece by Michel Gurfinkiel was ahead of its time by observing "alien values," particularly that of non-assimilation and entertaining the "hopes of superseding the present Judeo-Christian nation of France."

Palestinian Riot in Montreal
On September 9, 2002, former Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu was invited to speak at Concordia University in Montreal. However, a riot of Palestinian students ensued, making it impossible for him to even enter the building safely. Jewish attendees were trapped for a time inside the building with the violent protesters and had to be escorted out 10 at a time by police. One comment to the original posting noted that Concordia has a high number of foreign students, particularly from Islamic nations. The student newspaper has an account and several photos. And just a few days later, a Jewish student was attacked on campus.

Synagogue Attacked in Riot-Torn Belgian City - Antwerp
After the murder of an Arab by a Belgian, local Arab radical Abu Jahjah inflamed local North Africans to disorder, in which Flemish and black-owned businesses were attacked, but those showing Arab European League stickers were spared. Included in the rioting was a molotov cocktail thrown at a synagogue. The Telegraph of the UK remarked that, "Belgium's liberal media agreed yesterday that the country's experiment with tolerant multiculturalism had totally broken down."

The muslims are coming
This 1990 article from Daniel Pipes is a basic piece of writing on the subject of Muslim immigration to Europe and America and its demographic and political consequences. The numbers are most worrisome, particularly in Europe, e.g. Muslims in France outnumber all non-Catholics combined, including both Protestants and Jews.

Canada suffers outbreak of anti-Semitic violence
Attacks on synagogues have increased alarmingly according to this report (11/24/02). Many have hired full-time security as a result of fire-bombings and personal attacks. Canadian Jewish Congress has counted at least 50 incidents of arson, assault, graffiti and vandalism against Jewish targets since Israeli-Palestinian tensions increased in the Middle East in late September.

Jews in France Fearful of Attacks
French Jews now feel they should hide their religion, meaning no yalmukes or other religious symbols. Others are leaving for Israel, believing that they will be safer there. The possibility of war in the Middle East makes many Jews wary of more anti-Semitic violence perpetrated by the large Muslim community in France, now estimated at 5 million.

Barbarians at the Gates of Paris
Muslim immigration over decades has produced an entire class of young men who see crime as their acceptable lifestyle choice. The French middle class feel increasingly threatened by the breakdown of law and the complaint about "crime" is generally shorthand for immigration problems.

French Jews Tell of a New and Threatening Wave of Anti-Semitism
Perhaps this story is typical in multicultural France these days: a secular Jewish boy is beaten up by the Muslim students in the Catholic school they all attend. His mother remarked, "The political climate is too pro-Arab, and in the past year it has become intolerable."

More than one quarter of Jews in France want to leave, poll finds (March 2003)
Years of an increasing Muslim population with accompanying violence have convinced many that it is no long safe to live there. Some polling details: "Overall, 78 percent of French Jews blame radical Muslim youth in France for spreading anti-Semitism, while 76 percent also blame Israeli policy toward the Palestinians for hardening French government policy and contributing to anti-Semitism.Sixty percent also point to the French themselves as culprits."

France Is Not a Western Country Anymore
Still more distressing news from France, and how rapidly the French have abandoned their traditional values of liberty, equality and fraternity for a Muslim-ascendent culture of Sharia law and women's oppression. Time - crime in the banlieus plus page two.
Now that France is 20 percent Muslim, there are areas where women are simply not safe.

One in three French back saddam
During the 2003 war in Iraq, Franch public opinion went far beyond disapproving of the mere exercise of military force by the United States — they preferred the victory of the brutal tyrant.

France is almost finished
French writer Guy Milliere predicts that France will become majority Muslim in just 20 years.

A Maze of Identities for the Muslims of France
In April 2003, French Muslims voted to elect representatives to a national Muslim council that will address issues like education, dress and work. Even with such privileges, most complain that they don't feel French. They certainly don't act French: one story is told of several Muslim boys who threw a 14-year-old girl into a garbage can followed by their lit cigarettes and then the lid.

Recent Immigration Developments in Germany and France
This paper gives some background on the history of immigration in the two countries from the post-war period.

MP booed for telling Muslim women to unveil
French Interior Minister Sarkozy was shouted down when he stated that Muslim women must remove their veils for identification photos. "The veil is part of what makes Muslim women special, and France must accept that," said Souad, a young, veiled woman at the congress.

France's Headscarf Problem
Theodore Dalrymple explains how "Islamic extremists use secularism to impose theocracy: a tactic that calls to mind that of the communists of old, who appealed to freedom of speech with the long-term aim of extinguishing it altogether."

Inside the Muslim Council Elections
France decided that it would bring Muslims into the national family by creating a national religious council, similar to ones that exist for Catholics, Jews and Protestants. It was meant to provide a voice for Muslim moderation, but the idea did not turn out quite as expected.

Islamic Paris
A little Flash movie with a view of France in the near future.

A New Muslim Country
France continues to commit national suicide. The Muslim Brotherhood is a forbidden movement in Egypt, but can exist officially in France, where the government platform allows the group to preach its message of hate, for example when it declares that "It's a duty to kill in the name of God."

The Death of France?
FrontPage hosts a forum among several writers to discuss the loss of France due to the influx of Muslims, fundamental changing the nature of the society. Guy Milierre remarked, "France behaves more and more as if she does belong to the West anymore and as though she is the leader of the third world."

Five Million Reasons France Opposed the War
Did France disapprove of the Iraq war because it feared the violent uprising from its Muslim population? The question is considered with its considerations about the present and future.

No Vacation From the Crazies
Here's a horror story from Paris: Ten Arab men who raped a teenaged girl were convicted and condemned to spend five years in jail. The Arab families left the court of justice shouting to the journalists it was unfair and they would look out for revenge. Eight days later, the court was burnt down during the night. The teenaged girl and her family have had to leave Paris, and hide in another part of the country.

Europe Grows Hostage to Its Muslims
This article estimates that 70,000 young women are forced into marriage annually in France. According to German media, there are secret sharia courts in Italy, and that Muslim women there have been treated by doctors for lashing.

French prisons: extremist training grounds
More than half of France's 45,000 penitentiary inmates are Muslim, more than six times the proportion of Muslims in France's overall population. This criminal propensity is why the French often use the word "crime" when what they really mean is Muslim immigration. In addition, the captive audience is a gold mine for imams teaching jihad.

France warns mosques to avoid extremism — Interior minister says he'll expel anyone preaching 'radical sermons'
France's interior minister Nicolas Sakozy apparently remains the one person who won't knuckle under to militant Islam without a fight. He is trying to promote a moderate sort of Islam in France, which has made him no friends among radicals, who are many.

Muslim school opens in secular France
The nation's first Muslim high school has opened, as France gives way to the demographic onslaught. The girls were "covered" in the Islamic fashion, although this practice is not permitted in public schools. Like other religious schools, Lycee Averroes must conform to strict rules, including the use of the same core curriculum, safety regulations and qualifications for teachers and administrators as public schools.

French resist Muslim push for minarets
As Muslim population increases in France, so do the demands for French culture to accommodate to Islam. One town doesn't want a huge mosque to overpower its churches.

Middle Eastern hatreds poison left-wing political life
A large leftist confab in Paris ended up in bitter rancor over anti-Semitism. Turns out that a Muslim considered a "moderate" Tariq Ramadan has some rather crude views regarding Jews. Despite his calls for a calm Islam respectful of European secularism, Mr. Ramadan nevertheless attacked French Jewish writers who side with Israel.

French rabbi: Wear baseball caps, not skullcaps, in public
Chief Rabbi Joseph Sitruk has recommended that Jews wear untraditional headgear to avoid getting beaten up on the street. His remarks came three days after an anti-Semitic arson attack on a Jewish school on the outskirts of Paris.

France's Scarlet Letter
Marie Brenner's Vanity Fair article from June 2003 was much discussed at the time for its examination of the way that authorities and the media refused to recognize violent acts of anti-Semitism. As Ms. Brenner notes: "Between January and May 2001 there had been more than 300 attacks against Jews. From Marseille to Paris, synagogues had been destroyed, school buses stoned, children assaulted. Yet very few of the incidents had been reported in the French media."

Anti-Semitism: The French Crisis (Jan 04)
This catalogue of mounting violence against Jews shows that France has lost control of its streets. Polls indicate that one-third to one-half of French Jews feel threatened to the point of considering leaving the country.

Is France on the way to becoming an Islamic state?
Scary statistics and terrifying consequences here, like "Given current birth rates, it is not impossible that in 25 years France will have a Muslim majority. The consequences are dynamic: is it possible that secular France might become an Islamic state?"

Paris Suburb to Televise Slaughter of Sheep
The Muslim population of Evry, one of France's largest, is installing video screens so that the faithful can watch the slaughter of around 3,300 sheep to celebrate Eid. French Muslims regard it as their right to see a sheep they have purchased for the purpose to actually see it slaughtered, which presents certain public health problems, since the total number of sheep slated for Eid killing in 2004 is 110,000.

French Muslims fear 'state within state'
Many French Muslims are miffed over the legislature's vote to ban headscarves and other in-your-face signs of religion in society, which the French wish to keep as secular. Some Muslims have chosen to drop out of mainstream France and keep to their own foreign enclaves.

Al Qaeda Builds a Euro Army
According to DEBKAfile's various counter-terrorism sources, Al Qaeda is rapidly recruiting in Europe. In France, the terrorist group has organized between 35,000 and 45,000 men into military style units. In Germany, the Islamic militia members number up to 30,000 and 10,000 are estimated to be so affiliated in Britain.

French anti-Semitism drives more Jews to settle in Israel
The number of Jews leaving France for Israel has tripled since the 1990s. That's not surprising: the number of anti-Semitic incidents declined world wide between 2002-2003, but nearly doubled in France.

No solution in sight to French anti-Semitism
Novelist Nidra Poller, an ex-pat American writer who has lived in France since 1972, notes that shouting "Death to the Jews" is not discouraged there. French anti-Semitism has been on the rise, fueled by the increasing Arab population, as well as the attitude among French elites that anti-Jewish violence is no big problem.

What's New in Paris?
France continues to accept and deny the growing tide of anti-semitic violence. In one incident, a 12-year-old Jewish girl was attacked leaving school by two men who carved a swastika on her face with a box cutter.

Exodus of French Jews expected
Israel is preparing for the anticipated influx of French Jews escaping increased violence. A report found 30,000 out of France's 575,000-strong Jewish community were considering immigrating to Israel. French Justice Minister Dominique Perben said last week (early June 2004) that 180 anti-Jewish acts had been recorded so far this year, including cases of assault, arson and verbal insults.

Preaching for the Enemy
Some unpleasant stats here: 5-8 millions Muslims in France, Saudi Arabia funds 80 percent of every mosque and Islamic center there, 91 percentof the imams are foreigners and most of them are illegal immigrants. Yet French government spokesman Jean Francois Cope insists that expelling the radical imams would be improper since many have resided in France for years. Denial continues.

More unpleasant facts from France, via Arnaud de Borchgrave: "Eighty percent of the imams in the 1,000 mosques surveyed by RG are foreigners; 20 percent French nationals, but only 2 percent born in France. Most of the imams said they are unpaid volunteers dependent on collection plates. In 40 percent of the mosques, imams admitted they were "self-proclaimed" or "improvised" with no theological credentials. ... A little over one tenth of the imams surveyed said they were 'self-taught' and were getting their religious training on the Internet."

Douce France, by Hugh Fitzgerald
This essay is a remarkable psychological study of denial, and should not be missed even if you don't care what happens to France.

Hate From Every Corner
Jews in France continue to be physically attacked. This article notes the increase of violence coming from blacks, who are of course Muslims. One reason cited for the upsurge is the state television performance last December by black French comedian Dieudonne M'Bala M'Bala in which he dressed as a religious Jew in army fatigues and gave the Nazi salute while yelling "Israel, Heil!"

France backs hate expulsion law
Here is a bit of good news. The upper house of parliament has agreed to legislation permitting the deportation of foreigners inciting violence against women. The action is in response to the expulsion of extremist cleric Abdelkader Bouziane, who was subsequently allowed back into France when a court ruled his deportation was illegal. Bouziane had been deported to Algeria in April for saying that the Koran authorised the stoning and beating of adulterous women.

The Fatherland Betrayed by The Republic
Novelist Jean Raspail believes that France has already devolved beyond saving. Not only that, but "France is not the only concern. All of Europe marches to its death." He estimates that France will turn majority Muslim around 2050.

Why al-Qaeda Will Dominate the European Union
Pavel Kohout, an associate of the Center for Economics and Politics in Prague, believes that Europe's cultural passivity and naive ideas about Islam will be its downfall: "Western European politicians... want to believe that there is no clash of civilizations; that terrorism is just a product of misery and lack of education; that the solution lies in a multicultural, tolerant society; and that the stubbornness of the Americans and Israelis is to blame for all the problems." The demographic reality of a rapidly growing Muslim population in places like France, as well as the politics of oil, draw Europe more into the Islamic orbit and away from its own roots of democracy, Christianity and individual rights.

America's Oldest Enemy: France
Of importance for this posting are the remarks about the Islamicization of France noted in this question: "We've got native French girls in certain communities, where Muslims are the majority, that now wear the veil because of the frequent occurrence of physical harassment, attack and rape."

Islam shaping a new Europe
France is struggling to contain the alien culture which has taken root within its borders, with little success. This article is part of a Chicago Tribune series Struggle for the Soul of Islam," a title which is unduly positive. (To be fair, some of the articles are excellent and important, particularly "Rare look at the secret Brotherhood" about the fundie Muslim Brotherhood group.)
