Welcome to the American Revolution II

Welcome to the American Revolution II
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.
"We face a hostile ideology global in scope, atheistic in character, ruthless in purpose and insidious in method..." and warned about what he saw as unjustified government spending proposals and continued with a warning that "we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex... The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist... Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together."Dwight D. Eisenhower

Who got stimulated

Budgets do not come from the White House. They come from Congress, and the party that controlled Congress since January 2007 is the Democrat Party. They controlled the budget process for FY 2008 and FY 2009, as well as FY 2010 and FY 2011. In that first year, they had to contend with George Bush, which caused them to compromise on spending, when Bush somewhat belatedly got tough on spending increases

For FY 2009 though, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid bypassed George Bush entirely, passing continuing resolutions to keep government running until Barack Obama could take office. At that time, they passed a massive omnibus spending bill to complete the FY 2009 budgets.

And where was Barack Obama during this time? He was a member of that very Congress that passed all of these massive spending bills, and he signed the omnibus bill as President to complete FY 2009. Let's remember what the deficits looked like during that period: (below)

If the Democrats inherited any deficit, it was the FY 2007 deficit, the last of the Republican budgets. That deficit was the lowest in five years, and the fourth straight decline in deficit spending. After that, Democrats in Congress took control of spending, and that includes Barack Obama, who voted for the budgets. If Obama inherited anything, he inherited it from himself.

In a nutshell, what Obama is saying is I inherited a deficit that I voted for and then I voted to expand that deficit four-fold since January 20th.

Barack Hussein Obama please go back to school

The photos say it all.

Self-explanatory: Just look at the paraphernalia that his "aides" have to carry into a school in order for him to speak to school kids. Unbelievable!

These 2 pictures make a statement!!

Here is what Obama needs set up to talk to a few school children.
Not much room for kids. Still needs to have the Teleprompters.
The secret service guy in back keeps eyes out for any terrorist-type-8-year-olds with tea partying parents.
His I.Q. gives him away!!!

Here is what the last guy needed.
(and he's called the dumb guy)

I want my country back.
Remember in November.

Honolulu Transit Authority vote NO

Pardon my political rant for the day…

In my opinion, the “ridership” of the train will consist primarily of politicians taking a ride to a higher office on the backs of taxpayers.

Follow the money rings clear here… Look at the funding for the pro rail candidates’ campaigns.

If this was really about reducing traffic, consider the effect and cost of encouraging businesses and employers who are able to go to 4/10 days or telecommuting… to earn tax breaks or tax credits. This could be a permanent fix with no maintenance costs.

HOW MUCH?

Please vote NO on the City Charter Amendment for Transit Authority.

Here's why:

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY
To manage a complex multi-city or multi-county transit system with multiple bus systems and rail lines.

IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU?
We are one city and county. We have TheBus and one possible rail line. We have a very simple structure for our transit. The proposed Transit Authority is totally NOT needed...

... Unless you want the following "advantages":

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY -- To circumvent procurement process including independent bond floats. IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU? -- NO

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY -- To protect politicians from the failures and costs of rail.
IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU? -- NO

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY -- To divert taxpayer money from TheBus and TheHandivan to TheRail, IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU? -- NO

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY -- To protect politicians from cuts to TheBus and TheHandivan. IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU? -- NO

PURPOSE OF AUTHORITY -- To provide senior City bureaucrats with higher salary positions. IS IT GOOD FOR OAHU? -- NO

HOW MUCH extra tax did the H-1, H-2 and H-3 Freeway cost Oahu taxpayers?
Zero. They used 80% to 90% federal funds and our local gas tax.

HOW MUCH of the local gas tax went to build the entire H-3 Freeway? About 500 million in today's money.

HOW MUCH of local taxes will go to pay for rail? $3 million, or SIX TIMES more than we paid locally for the H-3 Freeway.

HOW MUCH will rail cost if you believe the City's numbers? $5.4 million.

HOW MUCH will rail cost if the cost overruns of Puerto Rico's rail happen to Honolulu? $9,700 million or about FOUR H-3 Freeways. Remember Puerto Rico is the only island that built a heavy rail like ours. They too had FTA oversight and Parsons Brinkerhoff as the lead planner and engineer. So our conditions are perfect for a 100% cost overrun like San Juan, Puerto Rico.

HOW MUCH of a mistake did they make for ridership? In San Juan (which is about two million people) they forecasted 80,000 daily rides for the opening year but actual was under 25,000. For Honolulu (which is 900,000 people) they forecast 97,000 rides in the opening year :)

HOW MUCH surplus money does Honolulu have available to pay for the rail? Honolulu today is in budget deficit (it balanced past budget shortfalls by borrowing money) and faces huge liabilities with sewer and road repairs, secondary sewage treatment and the employee retirement fund. It is estimated that property taxes will need to go up 40% to finish building the rail, with no cost overruns.

If you have a minute, here is a brief blog post that explains how rotten the process is. Go Here

Blind Beliefs

"Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth."
— Albert Einstein

If you need a solid dose of anti-academic dogma, read “Einstein: His Life and Universe” by Walter Isaacson. Never again will you accept the Blind Beliefs of modern day academics who purport to know exactly what is going on in your life and the global economy.

In addition to an ominously timed story titled “The Return of the LBO”, Barron’s ran an interview with Vincent Reinhart this weekend titled “The Case for Quantitative Easing.” If you haven’t read it yet, you should. It will cost you 5 debauched bucks to get a consensus opinion that’s worth about that much.

Vincent Reinhart shouldn’t be confused with his wife, Carmen Reinhart, who co-authored one of the most important empirical works in modern economic times (“This Time Is Different” with Ken Rogoff). Carmen is a self-taught Cuban-American who came to America with her family and 3 suitcases in 1966, whereas Vincent spent almost his entire career as a yes-man at the Federal Reserve.

If you don’t want to waste 5 Burning Bucks (the US Dollar closed down again on a week-over-week basis last week for the 17th out of the last 20 weeks), here’s a recap of some fairly shocking one-liners in the Reinhart interview (*reminder – Reinhart was a Greenspan “consigliore”):

1. Barron’s: “You must feel some vindication that the very policy you have been pushing for several years is now being embraced”

Reinhart: “It’s too early to take credit until they actually do something meaningful.”

2. Barron’s: “Quantitative easing has very little history in economics.”

Reinhart: “There was one other important case study, the 1930s, when short term rates were about zero from 1932 onward.”

3. Barron’s: “Is that a good or a bad thing?”

Reinhart: “That depends on your outlook. Certainly you can’t expect the Chairman of the Fed to go around making speeches saying ‘hooray, we are depreciating the currency. Yet dollar weakness is a good thing as long as it is limited, controlled and gradual.”

Maybe a better acronym for QE is government sponsored BS.

While we do applaud the Barron’s interviewer for giving Hedgeye some knucks calling QE “financial kryptonite” (in our Q4 Macro Themes presentation from 3 weeks ago we coined QE “Krugman’s Kryptonite”), we’re hardly going to support another professional politician with no market practitioner background for pandering to the academic dogma of a Fed Chairman who is still lost in his historical studies of the Great Depression.

I think the groupthink embedded in these quotes is pretty obvious, so I won’t dissect it in detail, but I will summarize the risk in what both Reinhart and Ben Bernanke aren’t telling you.

1. With 43 MILLION Americans in line for the Food Stamp program and a 9.6% unemployment rate there should be no credit given to the charlatans of the broken promises associated with ZERO percent rates and Big US Government Market Intervention.

2. Quantitative Easing has plenty of history – it’s just not the history that fits the storytelling of those who perpetuated Jobless Stagflation in both the mid-1930s (Germany and USA) and Japan since 1997.

3. Debauching a country’s currency and attempting to fear-monger its citizenry into believing that the rate-of-return on their hard earned savings accounts should be ZERO as the government implodes itself with debt is something the Fed Chairman should be protecting Americans from rather than perpetuating via its politicized policy making.

As Washington fat cats take pictures petting their pooches in front of some inflated art like Vincent Reinhart did for his interview, remember this … and remember it well… Americans aren’t paid off to have Blind Belief in short-term dollar depreciation oriented stock market rallies. They know who is getting paid by the Piggy Banker Spread in 2010 – and it’s not them.

Americans want someone in government to tell them the truth. The enemy of truth is the posturing of truth itself.

My immediate term support and resistance lines for the SP500 are now 1167 and 1181, respectively. As the bulls were Snorting QE on Wednesday, I finally re-shorted the SP500 (SPY) near its intra-week high. I titled an EL note last Monday “Defend Yourself” and I am currently living that strategy out loud.

Best of luck out there today,

KM

The American People 545 PEOPLE stand in our way!!!

This is a bold article. It's not pro Republican or Democrat. It is pro American.

Before November: Please read this… slowly… let it sink in. And PLEASE, please VOTE in November! This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be.

Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day.

HOPING EVERY CITIZEN WILL READ THIS AND THINK ABOUT WHAT THIS JOURNALIST HAS SCRIPTED IN THIS MESSAGE. READ IT AND THEN REALLY THINK ABOUT OUR CURRENT POLITICAL DEBACLE.

It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 PEOPLE -- By Charlie Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget. The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code, Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy, Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he/she votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.... . The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. House members, not the President, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red...

If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it's because they want them in IRAQ

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.

They, and they alone, have the power..

They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

HIROSHIMA WAKE UP AMERICA!!! Time to clean the house Now!!!!!!

64 years later
What is the story here? Be sure to view all the way to the end!

What happened to the radiation that's supposed to last thousands of years??

HIROSHIMA 1945

We all know that Hiroshima and Nagasaki were destroyed in August 1945 after explosion of atomic bombs.
However, we know little about the progress made by the people of that land during the past 64 years.

HIROSHIMA - 64 YEARS LATER

USA - 65 YEARS AFTER HIROSHIMA ......

Cleveland, OH
With a high school graduation rate of 34%, the city of Cleveland has among the lowest graduation rates in the country-this according to the America's Promise Alliance. In the most recent annual report filed by Cleveland's Juvenile Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, a total of 11,254 "Delinquency and Unruly" cases were filed. African-American youth made up 64% of individual offenders, the highest of any minority group. Moreover, the city's unemployment rate stands at 8.3%. After typing in Cleveland's zip code of 44101 at Recovery.gov, over $27,000,000 in Recovery Act funds has been received, with zero jobs created to show for it.

Baltimore, MD
At 41%, Baltimore's high school graduation rate lands it on the list of Cities in Crisis compiled by America's Promise Alliance. According to the State of Maryland's recent annual report of Juvenile Services, African-American youth made up more than 43% of those placed in Juvenile Detention Facilities, 47% of Out-Of-Home Placements, and 80% of those placed in Shelter Care Programs, the highest of any group. Among Baltimore's recent data on Maternal and Infant Health, African-American infants had the highest mortality rate (15.5 per 1000 live births) of any group. Currently the city's unemployment rate stands at 7.6%. Recovery.gov shows that over $113,000,000 in funds have been dispersed for Baltimore's zip code of 21202; some 202 jobs have been created for this area.

Atlanta, GA
At 44%, the City of Atlanta also boasts one of the nation's lowest graduation rates, landing it in the same pool of Cities in Crisis. The Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice reports that for Atlanta's Fulton County, African-American youth made up over 93% of total intake for unique youth served for criminal offenses; over 92% of admissions for criminal offenses; over 92% of releases for criminal offenses committed; over 96% of the average daily population for criminal offenses; and over 95% of child care days served for criminal defenses. This past summer, The Atlanta Department of Police's Gang Unit has identified some 50 youth gangs in the city, notwithstanding the surrounding suburbs-this according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. The city's unemployment rate stands at 10.5%, more than the nation's current employment rate of 10.2%. According to Recovery.gov, the Atlanta zip code of 30354 has received over $42,000,000 in funds, but only 30 jobs have been created.
Detroit, MI

The motor city presents a dismal high school graduation rate of 38% according to America's Promise Alliance; it too is struggling with the same educational challenges as Atlanta, Baltimore, and Cleveland. According to the most recent executive summary of juvenile statistics published by the Michigan Department of Human Services, Detroit's Wayne County is at the top of the list of counties identified for targeted intervention due to a high juvenile crime arrest rate over a period of 5 years, and a high prevalence of arrests in the most recent year of documented juvenile justice data. Statewide, African-American youth comprise almost 50% of arrested juveniles. Detroit is also known to be one of the most violent cities, rated as the nation's murder capital by Forbes. The FBI reports 17,428 instances of violent crime out of a population of 905,783, in their most recent published data on U.S. Crime. Michigan Higher Education Land Policy Consortium reports that Detroit has an infant mortality rate of 15.4 per 1000 live births. The city's unemployment rate stands at a staggering 17.3%. For Detroit's zipcode of 48201, more than $20,000,000 in Recovery Act funds has been received, with only 67 jobs having been created.

Chicago, IL

With the highest graduation rate of the 5, Chicago still barely manages to graduate more than half of its Urban District students with a high school graduation rate of 55.7%-this according to the special analytic report on high school graduation published by America's Promise Alliance. According to the Illinois Criminal Justice Authority's most recent annual report, almost 300,000 youth live in poverty in Chicago's Cook County. Over 26,000 crimes against youth have been reported. Over 31,000 youth in Cook County have been arrested for criminal offenses; and of those arrested, 72% were African-American youth, the highest of any minority group. Chicago's struggle with youth violence has received national attention over the past year. In the previous academic school year, 36 Chicago-area students have been killed, with the recent death of 16-year old Derrion Albert receiving the most national attention. According to the most recent data on Infant Mortality by the Cook County Department of Public Health, African-Americans have a mortality rate of 14.7 per 1000 births, also the highest of any racial group. Chicago's unemployment rate stands at 10%. For Chicago's zipcode of 60603, more than $800,000,000 in Recovery Act funds has been received, with a dismal 19 jobs created.

What has caused more long term destruction - the A-bomb or U. S. Government welfare programs created to buy the votes of those who want someone to care for them? Think about it. Elections in November.

Wake up and send the Liberal Socialist Communist Progressive Marxist Maoist Fascist Muslim Mulatto Chairman a message this November.
